START THE YEAR OFF FRIGHT ๐Ÿ‘ป

โ€‹
I thought I should probably start the new year off with stories full of energy and adventure and a can-do attitude. But then the word "Januscary" came to mind, and I went in a different direction. An eerie direction.

But if you're in the mood for something sweet and lighthearted, the podcast episodes have got you covered.

โœ’๏ธ ๐Ÿชถ ๐ŸŽ™

Greetings! I'm Nila. Every week, I release a new short story and a new podcast episode spanning the genres of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, mythology, fairy tale, fable, and horror.

Whether you're in the mood to read or listen, I've got stories to tell you.

๐ŸŒณ

โ€‹
I see the reflection in my eyes of sparks dancing away. My eyes are wide, barely blinking, staring, and my mouth is almost smiling, quivering a little.
โ€‹
I look hypnotized.
โ€‹
Thereโ€™s nothing else now. No forest. No moon. Just me. Moving closer. And closer. Almost there. Iโ€™m not a dark shape in the woods anymore. Iโ€™m luminous. Iโ€™m warm. Iโ€™m everywhere.
โ€‹
Iโ€™m inside.

Attention Fiction Writers โœ’๏ธ

I have another newsletter and it's for fictioneers. Every month, I pick a topic or theme to cover about fiction-writing. I send out a short weekly email to introduce the topic, cover a technique, do some troubleshooting, then use one of my stories to demonstrate some aspect of the topic. You can subscribe by pressing the newsletter's title here: Fictioneer's Field Guide.

January's theme is "Fun First, Work Later."

Parting words๐Ÿชถ

Next time, a creature at the carnival and a spooky staircase.
โ€‹

Happy reading and listening! ๐Ÿ“š
